amazing food amazing service, glad I managed to get a reservation!
Wife saw a TikTok vid touting 'Flying Fish Club' as having the best fish & chips in Singapore. So we decided to try it out. It’s a busy little place even on a Mon evening (reservation via Quandoo recommended). Everything we ordered was good, except ironically, the Fish & Chips. Fish was fresh & chunky. But the batter was very underwhelming. I requested for a bunch of coriander to give it some flavour.. and the staff very readily obliged. Service was overall very friendly & good.
Think they just recently introduced their Weekend Lunch Sets ($23.80) which includes their Shiro Maguro Fish & Chips, Sparkling Lemonade / Housemade Iced tea, and Creamy Miso Clam Soup / Mixed Salad. We were told that their miso soup was sold out when ordering so we chose the mixed salad instead, together with the Nori fish and Peach Ume iced tea. Added on the Sakura G&T ($12) and the Pita Bread ($4). While the nori added little, the fish itself was so moist and flakey and wildly different from the usual fish & chips you get at western stores. Guaranteed to make your eyes open wide and a 'Wow' to escape your lips on the first bite. The batter itself didn't detract from the fish too, being just the right amount of thickness and crispness. Paired with the tartar sauce, this was a match made in heaven. And you get three big pieces of fish too! Fries were thick and crisp too, while the slaw lent a tart crunch between the fish. We saw on the menu (both physical and digital) that the Pita Bread was "served with crunchy fries, kani salad, tartar sauce" so we decided to add it on. Turns out it was a printing mistake and it was just the pita bread, but the boss was kind enough to give a complimentary salad. Overall, a damn good rendition of fish & chips with both components being of excellent quality. You won't regret going!
Oyster shots was realli good. Service staff were friendly. Will def visit again.
nice ambience, tasty food, can park our bicycles outside. would love to come back again.
My family of 4 arrived at the restaurant at 6pm and the restaurant was 3/4 filled. We were brought to our reserved table immediately. There are about 30-40 seats indoor and it was filled very quickly. Fish has a light batter and has chunky meat. My family ordered the signature, nori and nanban. All were good. The calamari was tasty.
Will go back again! Food was great! Service was good! I almost left my tapau and they looked for me.
Friendly staff, fish was really tender and battery was not over powering
Fish is definitely fresh and good but better can be improve, not crispy. Chips 👍
Food was good and value for money! Owner was friendly too.
Definitely come for the fish and chips. Very good. The other items were ok. A friendly place but the appetizer never got to the kitchen or was forgotten. It ended up coming with our meal.
Great food and ambience. Will return again! Cheers and thanks for the service.
Nice food and friendly staff. The atmosphere is also nice.
Great fish and chips and calamari. Very friendly prices even for drinks. Had a good time.
Ventilation can be better. Wait staff needs more training. Food quality is excellent. The Indian wait staff was very helpful. Didn’t get her name. ☺️
Ordered FIsh and chips.nori, Steak and fried calamari. Fish was fresh and taste is good except portion was small. Steak with hummus was good. Fresh Calamari not the frozen type and it was tasty. 👍👍👍👍
nice food with good service and will be going back again
Oyster shooters - fresh & tasty. Fish & Chips - interesting flavours. Fish meat is moist and chuky, they used oily fish which is good - not dry/flaky.
Quality of fish is good but Food portions are quite small, my group of 4 ordered 4 mains and 2 sides and weren’t full.
Interesting choice of fish for fish and chips, their homemade drinks are refreshing and goes well with the fried selection of dishes.
Fish is good. However the portion is on the small side.
Very good Fish & Chips. The batter is light and crispy. Fish is firm and flavorful. The Tacos is also tasty. Very good service too.
We ordered a Signature and Tori. The fish in Signature was tender and juicy and we really loved it. But the Tori was comparatively drier but still good in general. Portion wise, though the fillet in Signature was bigger, we thought that both Signature and Tori serving sizes could be bigger.
pretty good fish and chips! the asian flavors really do work well together. plus the fish they use is shiro maguro. way nicer than a limpy soft dory
Small restaurant specialising in fish and chips - fresh and quality fish, liked their spicy version.
Fish and chips were great! Portion size was just nice 👍
Best fish and chips i haven eaten so far in SG
The service was fast and good however the tables were a little cramp.
It was rather quiet for a Sunday evening. There was a couple there when we arrived. I liked the spicy fish and chips. Felt the serving was a little small compared to the diners who arrived later. My partner has the tacos, the taco shell was a little dry but the fish was great. Overall, really good fish and chips.
I would go again for their fish and chips.. I like how the batter is not very oily. The maguro fish is unique and gives an interesting but good texture. I will prefer the spicy fish over the nori but both is good. Staff were very friendly and place gives chill vibes. I went on a Wednesday night.
Food and the vibes are both on point! Steak and hummus was my fav.
Lovely ambience! However the non spicy option was really bland and could really do with a better presentation to do the restaurant justice! Surprisingly few people on a Thursday evening.
Overall the fish taste ok, batter is crispy and light, fries are hot and crispy too. I just don't like the texture of the fish - very spongy and not much fish taste. Definitely better than the disgusting soft texture of Dory fish. Ambience is very simple. Nothing fanciful. Just finish your food and go.
Fish and chips is really good! And I would really love another piece of fish. Sides can have more choices.
what a hidden gem! Quality of the food was great. Will be back again.
Yummy food, fish, chicken wings, beers and oyster shooters although it took awhile to come as it was busy. Great ambience.
Service was a bit slow, but the food was great in general! A little too oily/heavy if you get a main with fried sides to share though
We enjoyed the food! The fries(chips) were nicely fried. Fish wasn’t heavily battered and tastes fresh. We enjoyed the oyster shots too :-)
Great service & food was amazing! Im still thinking about it till now. Keep it up!
the fish was SO GOOD! thin crust and crispy, so worth it!
Quite nice fish and chips, standard meal. Will come back
All the dishes are great! Fried cauliflower and calamari and fish and chips are really good! Service is prompt.
Had the classic fish and chips which was quite good. The batter was crispy and light. The fish was fresh but too thick for my liking. The fries were well done and accompanying edamame was a good complement. Service however was slow despite only a few diners.
Great place to chill with friends. The craft beers are amazing and pairs well with the fried starters which we absolutely love. Definitely recommend the cauliflower and calamari.
place was pretty empty on a thursday night, decent food and drinks but slightly pricey
Interesting place, cozy and easy to talk with friends. They serve special beer which you can ask recommendation if you have no idea what to have
place was surprisingly packed on a friday evening even though the location was not very convenient. enjoy the food and beer!
Wonderful vibe and people :) Can’t wait to head back there
Awesome dining experience with a nice selection of craft beers
overpriced not really tasty beer not fresh and bubbly not worth the trip
