Welcoming service with friendly and attentive staff, along with great food and ambience. Lunch sets are also available on weekdays, at a pocket-friendly pricing of $15.90 onwards with a main and drink. I decided to go for the ala carte menu and ordered the Southern fried chicken sandwich (which turned out to be a burger instead), cornflake french toast and loaded taters. My favourite dish among all was the southern fried chicken burger which comes with a huge slab of deep fried chicken thigh topped with nacho cheese and ranch sauce, sandwiched between soft buttered brioche buns. It also comes with a side of tangy purple slaw and honey butter cornbread that was luscious with a soft, crumbly texture resembling a pound cake. A great and sweet change from the usual fries/wedges. The loaded taters was sinful albeit enjoyable, deep fried mini bite sized hashbrowns loaded with a generous amount of spicy jalapeno cheese, sour cream, chives and bacon bits. Would prefer if the sauces are served separately though as the tater tots below had turned soggy and lost the essential crisp factor. The cornflake french toast was crisp and coated with cornflakes that provided a pleasant crunch factor, filled with a spread of white and dark salted chocolate ganache and served with butterscotch banana slices and macerated berries. The fillings of chocolate ganache could have been more though IMO, tasted pretty mediocre and akin to a typical chocolate spread without any hint of saltiness as stated. Though prices are pretty steep for the dishes here, it's worth a visit for the ambience and quality of food served!

Serves up amazing food, good service, love the concept and vibes of the place. Good place to chill and hang out with friends on a Saturday night.

The food was wonderful along with good service. Would love to come back and try the other poke bowls. Every ingredient blends so well together, plus the sushi rice was delicious!

We had the poke bowl, grilled cheese, pulled pork dip and the fish skin ! Food was good,especially the grilled cheese - our comfort food . Definitely will be back, hope to see more new items on the menu though. especially clean eats :)

i did not enjoy the spicy poke bowl as the spice was too overbearing to the point that i did not enjoy the rest of the dish.

Like their Seafood Gumbo. My friend's pokebowl looks nice too, just a little small portion. Drinks are not my kind, except the fruit tea choices. Desserts are not much special and definitely can be better.

A restaurant with good view. Fast clearing service and good food. Just that the price is quite steep. Overall, enjoy dinning in there for the first time. :)

Happy hour rocks, and theres a 15% if youre watching a show at esplanade on that day! Food was good, table was a bit small for 3 but it's fine, was cosy.

Staff was attentive and helpful. Our orders were taken quickly and food arrived quickly too. Staff also helped us take photos. Food is excellent and priced reasonably.

Friendly people working there. Food is good as well! We ordered the original shaker poke to try and it was really nice and fresh. The lime wings are good too!

Went on a Sunday evening with my friends. The 250g Salmon with tacos on the menu works for me. Yum! Good service and ambience by the bay.

love the food here. service staff were also very prompt, polite and friendly! might get a little bit warm if seated outside though, so be prepared.

Food was good. Only blip was when ordered a particular type of cider (which they did not have and had been replaced with another brand), the server did not inform me and processed my order with the new cider. I was only later informed by another server when the pint had already been prepared. Overall, will still go back because the food is pretty yums :)

Food and ambiance were great and with a nice view overlooking the city skyline. Recommend for those who are looking for a place to bring their dates :)

It was nice that they had the clean and indulge menu so they had a good variety. We ordered the poke and chips, pizza fries and chicken skin which were all really good.

Food was very good - had both the poke bowls and the shortrib cheese sandwich. Didn't have to wait long for the meal and service was good too! Would definitely recommend.

It was an average experience at Alter Ego. Service was prompt and staffs were friendly. Pizza fries was good when eaten hot, it turns salty when cold. The Original Poke Shaker and Umami Omega pokebowls were not bad, Chilli cheese dog wasn't that fantastic though it was recommended by the staff. The portion for chilli cheese dog was disappointing, considering it's the same price as the salmon bowls, it came with a small portion of coleslaw & curly fries. There was a 10% discount for UOB cardholders.

Great service, ambience, view and food selection, but raw fish in poke bowls can be fresher. We will be back to try out other items.

Poke bowl is delicious, taking orders is a breeze and server also ask if the food is good. Thumbs up for the friendly service. Will definitely come again.

Poke bowl was delicious and portion was quite huge! Tried the cheese burger aka Juicy Lucy and it was good too. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice place to hang out with friends or even for date night, can be quite crowded on the weekends.

Great service, with cheerful staff. Second visit and I will be back again. Props also to the team who returned a misplaced iphone to my friend :)

Ambience is great. Opt for alfresco dining if you prefer to have a conversation with your friends. Had the dirty menu as it was past 9pm. Grilled cheese with tomato soup by the side is highly recommended. The only downside is that the service crew are not as attentive to the alfresco tables and we had a hard time trying to get any attention.

Lack of service, service was slow. Called for the bill at least twice and it did not come. Needed to remind the same server twice

Great poke, nice drinks. Was terribly noisy indoors due to a large table full of drunk peeps though - might've been a good idea to seat them outside.

Ambience of restaurant was hip and friendly from the first step in! Menu offered was perfectly curated from a group to share or even for yourself. Special thanks and thumbs up to Ash, the guy who took care of us, he was really warm, delivered great hospitality to guests and recommended good plates to us! Thank u guys, keep up the awesome work!!!

Love their pizza fries!!! I feel that it's super overpriced though... but worth to give it a try! Also love their salmon with the spicy kick~ YUMZ

The food was tasty and the service was superb! I ordered the dessert and requested for the words "Happy Birthday" written on the plate, and the restaurant was able to do so beautifully. Highly recommended!

Reservation was screwed up. Reserved at 7.30pm but was fully booked. Had to come at 8.30pm instead. Barely sat for long, informed us that they are taking last orders for poke bowls. Ingredients ran out for our bowls + some drinks. Had to replace / change orders. Server was confused while serving. Had no idea what drinks were what. Third time visit here but my worst. Probably might not make a visit back.

The food was great and they had an interesting variety of brews and alcohol. The service crew were also very welcoming and helpful. Will definitely come back here again.

Food, service and ambience are good. However, the menu choices are slightly limited and the menus are torn and old. Think they should change away the torn and old menu.

The menu overall was really good;up to expectations. My only gripe was the seating and the fact that we were so close to the door that it felt even warmer then usual. Also, the ambience was off due to the poor choice of music. Was very much a distraction for me.

Very good service! Food was so so though. Pretty place to take pictures, can also stroll along the river. Great place for couples! Worth a visit if you wanna be romantic

It's my first time at Alter Ego after much ravings. Unfortunately, it didn't impress me and would not return for a second visit. Service was slow and the cilantro lime wings was horrible; taste of frozen chicken and the texture was soft instead of crispy which really turned me off from eating more. Other than that, the poke bowls and chips were a-okay.

Very nice ambience in the restaurant and the food was awesome! Small and cosy for a dinner gathering with friends. All the food recommendations were so good and to top it off, the happy hour was perfect! I would highly recommend my friends to try Alter Ego!

Friendly staff. Food didn't wow me. Personally found desserts lack lustre where it isn't interesting. The staff got the orders wrong 3 times. First they served the loaded taters with bacon (when we asked for it to be separated), then they change the order but forgot to serve the separate dish of bacon, and served a wrong dish of main to our table. We were a table of 4 and ordered 2 poke bowls, a main, 2 drinks, had 4 glasses of water on the table and was still waiting for another friend. The table was getting horribly and impractically crowded with no space left but yet they didn't offer a change of tables. We had to request and also correct the wrong orders. I would think attention to details, besides being friendly is important.

Service and food were good. We will head back to try more of the different selections available on the menu. Keep up the good work!

We tried the Umami Poke, Original and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich, which were delicious. Portion size was huge too. However, the server missed out some of our orders and kept us waiting.

Menu not much selection, price ranges from $17 - $22. More for beef lover. No waiting time as prior reservation was made. Nice location in front of Singapore River.
