My 3rd time dining at Telegraph and 2nd time in the same month! Food is good and service is always excellent. Special mention of Jon who made a special tag for the birthday gal and pasted it on the seat. We had an awesome time. Will come back again! Thank you, Jon!

We loved the menu for it's interesting and reasonably priced choices. It was very helpful that the servers advised us. Every dish we had was right portioned, elegant & delicious (definitely creative, restrained, and not run-of-the-mill) and fresh. We had the scallops pesto pasta; the tiger prawns truffle alfredo, and finished off with the dark chocolate tart with "sand" blue berries and vanilla icecream. All 3 were excellent, but the desert was outstanding - it surprised us how good it was. We also enjoyed the mocktails and were grateful for the wide selection. (While we didn't have it, seeing Cloudy Bay on the wine list earned the restaurant a lot a credit as it's my favourite among NZ options). Thank you. We're very glad we went.

Getting crowded. The lunch sets also seem to be either getting more expensive or smaller in portion size.

[BURPPLE 1-FOR-1 DEAL] Choose from your pick of burpple deals at this cafe bistro at the swanky new Guoco Midtown. We went with the Mains + Bar Bites combo, meaning from a selection we could get two sets of Mains + Bar Bites for the price of 1, worth! For Bar Bites, we got the Har Cheong Gai Winglets ($16.80) and Grilled Lamb Chops ($26.60). Winglets were crisp, juicer, but could use slight bit more intensity in flavour. Lamb chops came in such a large portion, but about a quarter of it were the fats haha! Otherwise, the lamb was grilled well and nicely seasoned, without the gamey taste but a tad too oily for my liking. As for the mains, we went with the Hokkaido Scallop Pesto ($24.80) and Miso Baked Salmon ($26.80). While the scallops weren't quite fresh the pesto pasta was quite addictive and paired nicely with the fusili. On the other hand, the baked salmon was a tad overcooked and underseasoned, with the only flavour being some kind of miso mayo squeezed on top of the salmon. At least marinate the salmon in miso! The saving grace was the mashed potatoes which was buttery and creamy. Overall, food was decent but there is room for improvement. Service given was also just passable. Ambience of the place was nice but somewhat stuffy and warm. But the burpple deal sweetened the meal, with the total for the 4 dishes plus a pint of beer coming up to just $76. Sign up for Burpple with my invite code DARR9295 to enjoy 1-for-1 deals here and at many other restaurants now!

Food was not exceptional, and a top up fee for the coffee was not something I would choose, if I return. Staff's attentiveness was good.

The Telegraph is quiet in the morning (in terms of crowd) which is a shame given the breakfast and coffee choices. In particular the different coffees were all good.
