Good food, good service. Pork loin with truffle butter was an excellent combination. Ambience was good too, not too crowded and noisy on a Saturday lunch.
Service was slow despite restaurant being less than half full when we arrived. We had to get our own menu after waiting for more than 10mins, sitting at our table.
Not too bad but their inventory of food was low. The waitress had to tell us twice that the choice of our food was unavailable.
Food was average, service and concept were worse. First of all, apparently Halia does not understand what "communal feast" means. We ordered the Halibut, spring chicken, seafood gratin (full) and the catch of the day, which was pan fried seabass. Seabass portion was super pathetic, not even enough for a girl. Wanted to order the full rack BBQ pork ribs but was told that they only serve half rack because it is "limited". So why is it still on the menu? Just leave out the option of full rack and stop confusing your customers please. That being said, shouldn't these 2 items be under "small" instead of "large"? When question about this, the staff replied "oh large means main course". Then why not rename your menu "starter" and "main course" instead of your own version of "communal feast"? This is my 2nd visit and I noticed the same thing- staff members were always huddled together (in a meeting? not sure) in conversation so it took forever to get their attention.
very attentive staff, with good customer service! Food was decent, and we had a one for one voucher. If not, it would be on the pricey side.
Food and drink menu is well thought of; overall menu spread suits small and big appetite. It was visibly evident that the staff made sure every patron were well taken care of. Ambience in the restaurant was nicely balanced for both casual and formal dining.
Food was alright but not value for money. Alaskan Black cod was too pricey considering it was rather dry. Good service by manager and staff.
Was rather difficult to get the attention of the staff at times. Some staff were friendly and helpful but the rest are not. Food wise was good. The grilled breakfast platter, pancakes and chilli crab pasta. Rather disappointed that the entertainer app 1-for-1 was not applicable for brunch items unlike at Spruce.
Halia represents a wonderful service and best of all, the food was great and the wine was good value. Will visit again very soon !
Food was good, as usual. However, I felt that the service could be improved. The servers were crowding in the service and kitchen area, making it tough for us to get their attention. Otherwise, the experience was good.
Overall a very pleasant experience, except that restaurant appeared a bit shorthanded with only 3 servers when it got crowded. We had the asparagus salad, which was really good, plus the beef tenderloin, spaghettini with chilli crab and pork loin. Would like to go back and try the spring chicken next time.
We had a lovely lunch in a calm and civilized setting. The $25 express set lunch menu is great value for money and, although there are only 2 options per course, they were very good.
Very good service and friendly staff. Atmosphere was ok. Food quality and variety could be better though. Will go back again in the future isa.
Good food. Room for improvement on the attentativeness of staff though. Have to wave frantically to capture their attention. For the food, will come back again
Service was very personal and attentive all the way through. Food was excellent, we especially enjoyed the Halia chilli crab and the seafood gratin. Will be back.
I went in with no idea what the food and experience would be like! What I found : Amazing food and amazing service! A genuine classic in Singapore.
The food and service were both excellent. Although it is on the pricey side, the quality of the ingredients more than makes up for it. Service was decent as well.
Great service, pleasant surprise with the Singapore Sling! Gotta try the Chilli Crab Spaghetti, tasty and filling. Pork ribs just fall off the bones... good!
Friendly and helpful wait staff. Food was tasty, but some portions were a little smaller than expected. Overall a pleasant dining experience. Will visit again
Nice food and good environment! We spent a wonderful night there with the famous Singapore Sling ! We have tried the beef and salmon, taste are good and the salad are so fresh!
Price point pretty high but man the food was good! The halibut was superb! I will definitely be back to try their other recommended dishes!
The experience was awesome, especially our server, Jennifer, she went all out to help me prepare the surprise of my friends' birthday desserts and they were indeed surprised. Food was good, desserts were great but the teas were a miss
Great food and good service. Prices are a tad steep though. More worth it if you are using The Entertainer App ( 1 for 1 mains) vouchers.
Prompt and attentive service although got the billing wrong. Didn't give the discount even though was told there was a discount with using UOB credit card. Had to tell them to correct this
one of the best meals we have had in Singapore and the best waitress we have experienced in Singapore. Would highly recommended Everyone try it.
Halia is always a great place to go for good food. The lunch sets are very reasonable. Raffles Arcade is conveniently located even though it's in the far corner closest to the National Library.
Food was not bad, though a little pricy. More improvements have to be made to the coffee and the variety of the coffee and dessert selection
Celebrated Mothers' Day here. Very nice ambience, not overcrowded or overloud. Food quality can be hit & miss. My chili crab spaghettini was filling and delicious, my mum liked her truffle mushroom toast, and those who ordered the cottage pie thought it was so-so. My cousin felt that the pork burger has a weird gasoline taste, and my aunt was disappointed with her corned beef hash. I wouldn't recommend the dessert. The ginger nougat and chocolate parfait were nothing to write home about, and the sticky toffee date pudding had the driest toughest texture you can ever imagine (obviously over-microwaved). Service by the industrious and cheerful waitress made up for everything- she was a gem!
The food was delicious. Service was attentive although staff seemed a little busy. There was a large group with many young children while we were there so it got a little noisy
Lovely restaurant. The service was excellent, and the food very good. I only wish there were more options for vegetarians in the mains section. Dessert was also good - sticky toffee pudding. Could've done with a bit more sauce.
course menu was different from the ones in common restaurants. for there were some crackers dishes with dips, firstly, we were worried whether they are enough for us but, we became full stomach.
Promptly seated, but it took a while for the menu to come. Staff was attentive and asked if the dishes were for sharing (I was dining with my mother) and also asked if we wished for the items to be served in proper sequence together or once they're ready. Will return again.
The steak was very tough even though it was cooked sous vide. Not worth the price. Chili crab pasta and pork loin were ok but not mind blowing.
'Service' was so bad that I didn't even stay on to eat. Ah well ... next.
Housed within the colonial era icon the Raffles Hotel, Halia is a refreshing concept. The communal meal for 4 is a must. Course after course of fresh, flavorful culinary creations in an easygoing atmosphere. A must.
I hate being taken for a fool: I ordered one dish and told me they had run out of it because they had served 2 clients this evening. The restaurant had enough stock for just 2 clients and has already run out of it before 8 PM? Come on, stop taking your clients for stupid people. The icing on the cake came with the fact the waiter added the restaurant was full house this evening when the restaurant was not even half full for the 2 hours we spent there. We decided to have dessert someone else as our experience there was really bad. Don't think you can lie to your customers and get away with it!!!
Service, food and ambience is great ! Went there to celebrate for my boyfriend's birthday . I wrote it on the special request when doing booking and they remember ! The staffs there sang a birthday song for him and it was a complete surprise. Definitely be back there next time .
I ordered express lunch. It was high cost paformance!! Taste's good and affordable!
food was okay, price and environment okay too. will go again. food was okay, price and environment okay too. will go again. food was okay, price and environment okay too. will go again.
The service is lovely, and it was definitely a great experience. I would definitely recommend heading back. The steak is a must try, as well as the sea bass.
Great food and ambience. Would go again. Loved the goats cheese and onion tart and asparagus salad. Sangria was too sweet though. Service was great as well
Food was very good, interesting Components and ingredients used to create wonderfully exciting flavours. Service was average though.Expect more for the price and reputation of this restaurant.
Restaurant was a bit crowded during lunch, so it was a bit hard to get the attention of the waiter/waitresses. We had the halibut and the pork loin during lunch, the halibut was really good, with my entertainer 1for1, it was worth the money, though I wasn't sure if I would order it without that. Ambience was so-so with many kids with families making quite some noise. All in, the food's good, so if you are after good food you should come here.
Halia ran out of pretty much many things on the menu and we had to wait almost half an hour for our orders. On top of that, my friend had to wait almost 45 Min for her tea because they ran out of tea. Most under prepares restaurant I've been to for a Sunday brunch. Will not recommend it to anyone.
Good quality food but too pricey. Also, did not clarify that would take three priciest items for the entertainer deal
tried the chilli crab spaghetti, the gratin and their signature milk tea. very good service but average food. overall it was a good dining experience.
Definitely worth the time I spent there! Very friendly and nice people, very fast and efficient service. Thank you for having such a cute and nice surprise for my friend!
portions were sufficient and food came quite promptly. There wasn't many staff on duty nonetheless and our cups were not refilled promptly. good value with entertainer app. Note entertainer app can only be used on LARGE plate items (i.e. 2 large plate items or 1 large plate item and 1 brunch item).
Awesome service for a birthday lunch, food was TOP notch, price reasonable. The Chili crab dip had real crab meat inside and portion was very generous. Highly recommended! Will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.
Nice ambience. Pretty decoration. Quite and convinient place near city hall. Good food. Friendly and prompt staff. User friendly restaurant online reservation. Good price for brunch.
