More about the restaurant: Tantric Bar
Tantric Bar is well established in Singapore’s gay scene, drawing in huge crowds every weekend and offering a friendly place to hang during the week at its multi-zoned Tanjong Pagar premises along Neil Road for years. Plus it’s the home of the Blue Spin, the second most famous cocktail to come out of Singapore since the Singapore Sling! The cocktail list overall is as long as your arm and we recommend you go the whole way with it for a night of dancing with certainly the city’s warmest bunch of people for company.

The legend goes that a wayward punter lost in the labyrinth of Tanjong Pagar wandered in to Tantric Bar’s Neil Road location and complained that no Long Island iced tea in Singapore was strong enough (this is reminiscent of the story behind the Harvey Wallbanger). The bartender found this claim risible, and so concocted the infamous Blue Spin as a rejoinder to this fatuous remark. The poor guy promptly got the spins, but seemed to enjoy himself, and the rest is history. Come sip a bit of it yourself at this renowned Tanjong Pagar nightspot!
Tantric Bar is a fixture in Singapore’s gay community, but is of course open to all. Upstairs you’ve got the equally famous May Wong themed cafe, but here on the ground floor down Tanjong Pagar’s Neil Road it’s all about fabulousness on all fronts: fabulous cocktails and drinks, fabulous music and friends, and fabulous good times, whether you’re up for a weekend blowout or simply some chill time after work during the week. Book yourself some elbow space and get Tantric.
