Black peper crabs taste excellent. and the service is also good. defintely this restaurant is a must-try option. Pricing is a bit high but quite acceptable.
The staffs was friendly and both the chinese and malay guy which are working today was very attentive. When they saw our bin was full they changed a new one for us. the service and the food was really excellent.
Great food, great ambience. I've friends who refuses to leave SG if he doesn't get to come here. Lots of variety for every guest. Walks in are almost impossible, reservations are needed during peak hours and weekends.
They serve fresh delicious crabs comparable to the best in town, and the service is wonderful. The price is reasonable too. Outdoor sitting is definitely preferable. The food could be warmer though.
great food nice place friendly staff. Not bad will visit again and introduce it to my f&f ....and location is easy to get. But must make reservation before go because seat is very limited.
Delicious and reasonable price. Conveniently located in China Town. We ordered a set for two with Chili Crab. Surely will come again when visiting Singapore.
Nice environment but slow service. Food is quite nice and reasonably priced. Distance from MRT is about 8-10mins walk. Reservation was easy to claim too.
Very good Chili crab !!! The staff was Nice and welcoming ! The restaurant modern and fresh. Overhall a great dinner in the heart of Singapore's lively Chinatown!
Very nice ambience and very good food. Brought a HK Friend who is a seafood lover and she commented that the crab is very well done. Specially like the butter crab with man tou
Excellent. Really fun time at dinner. Had the set meal for Teo, which we recommend. Service harried but warm and attentive. Recommend to anyone wanting local flavor.
The food was everything I was hoping for and excellent service. Had the Chili and Pepper crab. Make sure you book as gets busy quick.
We came quite early, at 6:00pm. But once the dinner hour start, the surrounding become bit noisy. Butter Crab tastes fantastic, but the Chilli crab tastes bit sour, perhaps they put lime or too many tomato sauce. Overall, the service is fantastic, definitely will come back to try the black pepper crab and crab bee hoon :)
Great service and fantastic food. Definitely lives up to its best Chilli Crab in Singapore label. Would definitely recommend booking to avoid disappointment. First Class!!!
Service is great and very attentive, location too but price is too steep and probably not worth the amount you pay. At the end of the day you try places for the taste and if the taste not blowing you away you probably won't come back.
My third visit ! I love their crabs! Really tasty and fresh. I love the crab bee hoon and white pepper crab most~ The prices are fare.
My allergy to peanuts ruined the choice for majority of the crab, fortunately I was able to have the butter crab which was delicious. Just wish they did one chilli version with out the peanut oil. The rest of the food was delicious.
A very special experience. We had the red chilli crab and it was delicious. We had both types of buns but preferred the fried ones.
We came as a group of four ( 2 guests from Perth and order a 4 persons set meal. We have ordered Steam crab & Crab bee hoon. Both taste fantastic delicious. 4 fried mantou which are a must ; 2 light bites (Tofu Chips . Luncheon Meat Crisps which are so crispy); The Crayfish was absolutely beautiful. The set menu finished with a simple Gelato of 4 flavours. We took one flavour each for 4 of us. The winning dish is the Crab bee hoon & Steam Crab however which was sweet, tasty and very fresh. Will definitely return for the well known chilli crab.
Very good experience at Momma Kong's. The place is small and cozy. We thankfully got an indoor table. The crab tools provided are excellent and really makes for a more enjoyable dining experience. And you won't have to worry about having to keep asking for wipes and serviettes at this restaurant unlike most others, everything is on the table. Their food is delicious, especially the butter crab and fried mantou. The crab bee hoon was very well cooked, the meat almost slips off. Both crabs were not huge but good sized. The gelato flavors are interesting and they tasted okay, but I would recommend you skip it. Service is average, one server was much better and friendlier than the others so we made it a point to get him to serve our table.
Chili crab with steam buns are awesome. But the sambal squid is a little bit too salty for me.. will definitely visit Momma Kong's again!!
The food is ok.However the customer service is not that good. We required to wave like 3 times to get the attention. When u get the attention the respond from the body language was her head tube up and asked what do you want from their counter to our seating table which near the exit/entrance.
Shop is small and tables are limited so reservation is a must. Butter crayfish was fabulous as was the signature chilli crab. Nice ambience. Clean toilet. Free photo taken and given as souvenir. ^^ Recommended!
If you just want to eat crab, definitely come to Momma Kong's. The location is very central and the prices are pretty reasonable. We ordered a chilli crab, white pepper crab and steamed and fried mantou buns for dipping. The chilli crab had a lot of sauce and was very good. The white pepper crab was not as spicy as I had thought so perhaps the black pepper crab would have been better. They took a picture of us for their picture gallery and gave us a copy of the picture at the end of the meal with the bill. Book in advance for a table though as they can get pretty crowded in the evenings.
We had a chili crab menu which came with, besides the delicious crab, a range of veggies, mantou, and other small dishes of seafood. Very tasty and friendly service.
We ordered chili crab, garlic Kang kung and steamed mantou. The crab was delicious, but kang kung was under seasoned. Needed a tad of salt. Service was great.
We were a group of 7, and had the set menu for 4, selecting: black pepper crab, red chili crab, tofu chips, luncheon meat chips, cereal crayfish, salted fish fried rice, sambal kangkong, stir fried dou miao, four fried mantou, and grilled squid. In addition, we ordered sambal stingray, garlic prawns, and four steamed mantou. Everything was good, especially the sambal dishes (if you like spicy food) and the chili crab. The restaurant staff also took photos of us and printed them out onto a postcard-sized slip of photo paper. What a nice way to commemorate the night! I would return.
Ok quality, but ridiculous price... Very expensive Menu set price was higher than in menu, extra fee from chiligrab. Street eating outside with cars, better inside
The crab was really good! Had the black pepper crab! Good service and good food :) did a photo printout as well which we liked! Thanks guys
The red chilli crab is awesome. Just that not that spicy enough. The man tou is made to perfection! Nice! Will definitely be back for more crabs!
We like pretty much everything about the experience: friendly staff, relatively reasonable price, and a good selection of dishes -- though the meal did not exactly has that "wow" effect, maybe we need to try a their other dishes.
The meat of the crabs is not full to the shell. In fact the crab of our 1st dish is only half full. We requested to change and the manager changed for us. He said they can't be sure of the quality of the crab when they ordered them. But I don't accept his explanation because once the crab is cut open, it is very easy to tell the full meaty ones from the not so meaty ones. The kitchen staffs just cut and cook every single crabs and hope the customers won't be too fussy about them. The butter crab dish we ordered tasted ok, but the white pepper crab dish was off. Will not visit the restaurant again.
Food was delicious and service very friendly. Loved getting a photo of our dinner at the end, it was a nice touch as I had taken friends visiting so they had a nice momento
It's fantastic! Very nice experience and it's my first time at Momma Kong. The crabs were awesome and very good service! Am going back again soon :)
Comfort food! Ordered the set meal for 4 and it was enough to feed 5 of us! Very satisfied with the entire meal. Crabs were fresh and nicely cooked.
Chili crab was really good: fresh crab and tasty sauce. Services were also good. Suggest to increase quality of souvenir photo or to have multiple copies.
good fresh crabs, nice setting in Chinatown, easy to book, beverage choice a bit limited I will recommand this restaurant for any seafood lover. Enjoy!
The crab meat was not fresh. Old crab and they did not have any crawfish as advertised. Would not go back to this restaurant again
We ordered the set meal for four, which was reasonably priced and arrived promptly. Food was pretty good but not awesome. There are better options in the heartland but good place to entertain out of town visitors in the heart of Chinatown and who want to devour crab.
Crab is really fresh! Group of 6 girls and we ordered the set for 4 with an add on order of crab. Do reserve in advance to avoid disappointment.
Pretty good. The crab is fresh and delicious. The fried manto is yummy. All the chef and servers are young men. Though food is good, the price is high.
The food was delightful. We especially liked the chili crab and crab bee hoon. The chili crab sauce, paired with the fried man tou was the highlight of the dish.
the food portion is more than enough, of course the food is tasty not worth the price. we did enjoy the night there, just one suggestion for all the guest, do make a reservation because it's a popular restaurant around the area.
The food was good overall. However, we felt just a little bit rushed throughout our meal even though we were not taking our time to eat. We do understand that they want a higher turnaround of customers, so that is a given. We were also charged for all of the wet towels despite the staff counting them before taking them away. The queue at the cashier was too long for us to correct the bill. I would recommend coming before 6:30pm to avoid the rush. Apart from that, I would still recommend the place for a casual crab session with friends and family.
The air con was too cold despite us requesting the fan speed to be lowered. Food turn cold pretty fast because of that. Chilli crab tasted a bit sour. And Hot beverages are overpriced. Steamed crab was fresh though.
Overall was good crab was fresh nice Unfortunately the fried bun have smell funny taste seems using old oilwaiter was friendly Environment was good Find Parking lot having issue
Great food and good service. Would recommend the black pepper crab fried rice for anyone going alone or don't want to order the full crab. Will visit next time in Singapore. Visitors be warned- there's a charge for the wet towel and peanuts on the table.
The ambience was great with nice songs playing in the background. Service is good too. Food was served quite fast and hot. Most importantly, the quality is there. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.
Small restaurant but great crab and buns but only wish both crab were the same size though as the chilli crab was allot bigger than pepper crab.
Fantastic food and great service. I ordered the chilli crab and was delighted by the generous serving. Also, the crab served is extremely fresh! Highly reccommended!
The chili crab was very good and the mantu was outstanding. I also enjoy the yu sheng. I wasn't thrilled they charged for the little cup of peanuts on the table and the wet towelette without letting you know they weren't included. Also, the service was just ok. Overall I would still recommend it but know ahead of time about those charges
