Baghdad Street in Singapore is packed with Middle Eastern eateries, but nowhere else can you find the incredible baloon bread than at number 17 Baghdad Street, the site of MAVI Restaurant & Grill. An extensive menu is on offer here, with all grilled dishes being cooked over a traditional Turkish charcoal fire. Turkish coffee is of course available, but who could ignore capping off a mixed mezze platter with a cup of traditional Turkish tea? Found in Bugis, Istanblue is right in the heart of Singapore.

MAVI Restaurant & Grill is to be found along Singapore’s historic Baghdad Street, at number 17 in Bugis to be precise. Their menus feature a huge selection of Turkish dishes, and you can rest assured that where heat is required, all dishes are cooked over a charcoal fire the traditional Turkish way. Of special note are the Special Meze plates, in particular the Istanblue Shish Kebab mezze.

The well-known Turkish dish of borek, cheese and herb stuffed filo pockets, is represented, as are lesser known delights such as hellim izgara (grilled goats’ cheese) and the baloon bread, which has to be seen to be believed.
