Ginza Kuroson - Takashimaya

Ginza Kuroson have numerous restaurants around Singapore and they are a go-to for their authentic food and casual yet classy style. Their outpost inside the Takashimaya department store on Orchard Road, though, has to be one of their most popular locations, so it’s always good to book in advance – especially for their fabulous set lunch menu, perfect for a midday business meeting. There is no shortage of dining options around Orchard, obviously, but for true Japanese fare that goes well beyond the selection of normal menus, Ginza Kuroson is the safest of bets. There are the usual suspects too, which are done very well – their seasonal sashimi tastes like it’s still swimming – but you should explore further for some unique tastes and special treats, especially from the sea. A salmon teriyaki don set is a good choice if you can’t decide, and the tuna belly is as rich as you’ll find anywhere. It’s easy to see why this is a perennial favourite for Singapore’s Japanese community.
