The staff could not teach us how to play the board games. In addition, service was moderate only. Cafe's atmosphere and board games were fun.
The place was too noisy. Only two staff hence they couldn't give time to explain the games. Very disappointing. Took the games from the shelves ourselves and the instructions were missing.
My first visit.Good and friendly staff. Comfortable environment. Food quality can be better. Overall will go back again. Prices are Reasonable. Close to mrt too
it will be better if the place has separated rooms so that the noise from the other groups of people does not disrupt other groups and my group as well.
I guess not everyone is perfect, so there are still games that the service staff do not know and will not be able to teach. There are missing pieces in most games too. The overall experience was okay because we all had fun, definitely because of the company. Other than that just hope that the games will not have missing pieces in the future.
Rather simple and cosy setting for a simple gathering. Staff are very helpful and familiar with the games. But some board games are very worn out though.
Cheap Entertaining for small to large groups, plenty of board games to choose from so you won't get bored. However, eat before coming, food isn't great.
Drinks were served fast and staffs were quite friendly. Maybe the thing is music was a little too loud. Other than that not that bad. The ice tea alao tasted a little weird. We ask one of the staff to explain to us the game, he said he don't know how to speak English. Weird.
It was a great experience, spending time with friends and loved ones!
It was fuss free reservation however the site should include the special deals that are being promoted in the shop at that moment so it will be easier or the consumer to choose the packages before even heading down.
Decent place, but for beginners, you probably have to read the rules to the games yourself or google online as there probably wouldn't be anyone assisting you with the games and what not.
It was fun playing all sorts of games there. A very interesting experience to try out all the different games, including those that I have never seen before
Nice environment to be in. Food served could be better.
11/03/2016 - It was a good evening and the staffs were helpful. I would like to particularly compliment Joey who went out of his way to help my friends and I get the seats we wanted, to keep in mind that I wanted a particular game and give it to us when the game was available and was always ready to help. Keep it up with such amazing service, Joey!
Great place to have fun and chill. Always a good time playing games with good promotions they offer. Will definitely go back there with great people
Nice place to play games and chill! Had a great time playing board games. Would recommend this place to all board game lovers cheers and keep up the good work!
One of the airconditionals was not working so it was pretty stuffy. Seems like there is a shortage of stuff. Drink orders took very Long to come. Overall service standard dropped a lot.
The staffs were extremely helpful, especially when it came to explaining the games to us. They also had amazing enthusiasm. I have got to say that the food is affordable and really delicious too!
Staff disinterested, no knowledge of the games. poor food, games in bad condition. Even simple French fries were average. I don't see the point. Avoidable.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Spot was too cold, they quickly helped turn off the airconditioning. Also helpful in recommending and explaining games, and patient in recommending gaming and food packages for our party of 5.
Very good choice of games but food is really average
Great place to hangout with friends, with many board games to choose from, and good food and drinks to choose too! Definitely a place where I will recommend to others!
Good service, good atmosphere. Will definitely recommend it to my friends who are looking for a chill environment to hangout and spend quality time together.
Didn't have a lot of people, so we could help ourselves to all the games. Food tasted good also. However, food service was still a little slow. Some members of service crew were not very friendly, but most of them were helpful with recommending and teaching games
Could change certain older game sets if they are torn and tattered. Nonetheless, a good variety of board games for an enjoyable time with friends or family!
Had an overall great experience, staff was friendly and understanding. The promotion at that period of time (During new year period) was reasonable as well!
The two games we took had missing items...like the individual board and bullets for Bang!, and the gold cards for Saboteur. Suggest that the outlet does housekeeping and keep track of what games are popular and require more than 1 set of.
It was relaxing and enjoyable. I will wanna go again to play games with my friends, esp everyone love a little fun in their life.
Great and cozy place. Food was nice although nothing special. Board games are quite used already though there were a lot of games to choose from. It is a great place to spend time with family or friends.
I will always come back for the especially good deals (especially on Tues and Wed nights) and for the great games. In my opinion, The Mind Cafe has the largest selection of board games around and for just $2.50/hr (or less), you can definitely play to your hearts content. It's almost always full, so making a reservation is highly recommended.
Dhoby Ghaut branch is very far different from Funan IT Mall branch. The staffs at Dhoby Ghaut are super unfriendly. The board games are mostly incomplete set. Staffs are not willing to teach you how to play & even asked you to figure it out yourself.
Fun, cosy place to be at! Wished there were more games though, air con too cold. staff could have smiled more. oreo cheesecake was bad.
We never tried the food, so we are unable to comment on it. However, most of the games part were missing and were the manuals. Staff shad no clue about the games. We had to google it ourselves. There was this female staff who was friendly and reliable. She knew some of the games and taught us. She also mentioned about the ongoing promotions. We asked another staff, who is a chinese male, for instructions on how the play the games. He told us he would get back us but did not at all. I would suggest the management of mind cafe, to employ more staffs to assist in games and cashiering, especially during peak hours at the prinsep street outlet. I would not consider going back again.
had a great time at e place cos it was so cosy and there are so many games to choose from! not to mention, e staff there was friendly and taught us how to play the games! :) will definitely go there again!!
There are plenty of fun games but some of them are in a different language or with missing instructions or with missing parts. I often find parts of certain games in the wrong box. The atmosphere is cosy and pleasant especially at the private couch area. The staff need to be more flexible if asked to split the bill or to reprint a receipt if you want to be a member after they have explained to you that you can be a member after they are the ones who printed the receipt. The food is tasteless but that is not so important as it is mostly a cafe. The staff should politely ask people to take care of the games and put them back the way they found them and maybe put signs about it. I always have fun at the mind cAfe but there are some things which if improved can attract and retain more customers.
Noisy place as usual but that's what you expect in a gaming cafe. Some of the game tools were missing and we couldn't play. Took a while to get a staff's attention
Good experience at Mind Cafe. Our lst time visiting ! Very nice cakes I must say !!! Too many games to play but not enough time.....ha....ha...!!!!
Average brunch, service was good and staffs are friendly. Had to queue quite a while to get in
Apparently there's a $10 service charge. It's too overpriced knowing that you paid an hourly rate for the games. They also lack staff. The games are alright but if you don't know how to play them, you'll be wasting a lot of time before having fun.
The crew was very friendly and helpful. They are very willing to suggest a game for you and would really love to explain the rules. But I was not a fan with the food.
When the cafe is fully packed the noise level tends to be loud. If only they can sector the tables into rooms to control the noise levels.
Good selection of games, free flow soft drink was flat, food wasn't very nice, service was slow, couldn't buy a beer but the concept was fun
Extremely calculative, we were not done with our food and as our gaming time was up and we were halfway thru 'Sequence', we requested for them to allow us to just complete the game and we'll end the session (as it's a pretty fast game), but they insisted to charge us a pro-rates overtime extension amount just to complete the game. Well done Mind Cafe, for a mere $3.75 extra charge (for 6pax)........... Food was also terrible. We had the curry samosa, chicken wings, seaweed chicken and chicken baked rice. how does anyone screw up simply deep-fried food?! They were soggy, over-fried and super dry. never coming back! Our experience at Settlers was way better, as were the food & drinks.
Great place for a group of friends to spend time with the wide variety of board games! Free flow drinks available & a good selection of hot food too.
Great place to spend the afternoon with a wide variety of board games (I personally have never heard of more than half of the games there!)
Great place to hang out with friends after a day's work w/o spending much. Enjoyed playing the games, loads of laughter, fun and reminiscent of my childhood's pastime.
Place was understaffed. The aircon was leaking but staff did not put a sign or rearranged the tables. Service could be better. Price for the festive season was reasonable.
The service was poor. They didn't inform those who have reserve that they will be closing early a few days before. Quite a number of the food in the menu is not available.
Nice cosy place with a large variety of board games. Enjoyed a good afternoon of fun with friends! Will definitely visit again in the future.
There was a huge variety of board games- most of which were extremely fun. Had to -3 because the package that we got (Christmas package) came with free munchies and drinks, but they were almost completely out of the munchies and the drinks were subpar. Also there was this group of 10 that were going bananas next to us screaming at a very high pitch while playing the game for a good half an hour, which is more than sufficient to tick anybody off. There was also an event which made it ridiculously noisy and overbearing at times, but on a normal day I'd imagine it'd be pretty pleasant- do check if there is an event going on that day before heading down.
