One server excellent, the other appalling. A little training wouldn't go amiss! It's the 4th time I've been and generally the service and food are excellent. This time, the portions were small, drinks and food came at different times for each guest. Having raved about previous visits we were a little disappointed.
Overall the place was nice and clean but rather small. The food was very good enjoyed it very much. Staff was not so attentive. Called for the bill a couple of times eventually we just went up to the cashier to make payment.
Was greeted by Richard at arrival. Service was prompt and good. Food wise & portion was excellent.
Food variety was very limited for the brunch menu. Quality was reasonable. The molten lava cake was superb, definitely a must try. Would be good if they include beef wellington in the menu, tho.
The beef Wellington is cooked to perfection and the truffle fries is nice and hot
service and food were disappointing , staff inflexible and grumpy . my husband and I have already fed back to management and we hope things get better soon
I expected a lot more from this place, having seen positive reviews before going. My companion and i ordered the Beef Wellington, their signature dish ($59++ for 2 persons), and it was actually very good. But the good points end there. The attitude of the servers, particularly the one man who took our order, was terrible. When ordering, as soon as i informed him we would be using a 1-for-1 coupon, his face turned black with contempt. He kept this face on throughout our stay there. He also did not know or forgot that the coupon was n.a. with the Beef Wellington, so in the end i was forced to accept a lesser discount. The decor and atmosphere was nothing notable, unlike what i had expected from descriptions of the place - English country home-styled furniture and fittings? More like a random assortment of lackluster art pieces and generic wooden furniture. Finally, besides the Beef Wellington there was about one item in each section of the menu (Starters, Mains, Salads & Quiches, and Desserts) that was interesting and seemed authentically English, which reviews tend to highlight. What they failed to mention is that all the other items are disappointingly uninspired, reflecting the kinds of vague 'Western' food that Singaporeans are all too familiar with, with generic descriptions and ingredients. Not to mention completely undeserving of the kind of prices they were asking.
Great service, great atmosphere and great food. Always enjoy our visits here day or night. Consistently top quality experience and friendly service. Be back soon.
Tasty mains, pretty lady boss/waitress, good ambience. Portion sizes could be larger. After having starter, main (beef cheek was yum) and dessert, I still left hungry.
The food was really lovely here. The sausage on my plate was one of the best I've ever had in my life. The fries that came with the steak sandwich were of a generous portion and so good too!
Quality of food was superb. The Beef wellington and beef cheek were really good. Though the price of beef wellington (29.9 per portion, min 2 portion) is slightly on the pricey side.
Excellent food and friendly attentive service, will definitely go back. Lots of British classics very well executed with great cheese board and desserts also. Good job
I was looking for a sunday brunch place to take some friends. Katong area has a great Sunday morning buzz to it while Rabbit, Carrot Gun great atmosphere, food and service.
Great atmosphere. Place has an authentic British menu, good selection of beers. But we thought the servings could be more generous for the price though.
Excellent English food, comes with restaurant and pub version. Ordered beef cheek and pork belly, very creamy and tender. Looking forward to visit again for Sunday roast
great ambience and delicious british food. there is also a wide range of beers to choose from. there isn't much indoor seating space so make your reservations early.
Brilliant Sunday roast and wonderful staff. Definitely worth a visit but make sure you book to guarantee a space as its a very popular place on a Sunday and servings of the roast dinner are limited!
Excellent service, great atmosphere and the most awesome hosts/owners....if you don't try it you're missing it!!! Have to go back again...soldier breakfast made my day$$
Service was slow and inexperienced. The place is charmingly English and nestled in a nice Neighbourhood amongst Joo Chiat and East Coast shophouses. Food is so so
I had a business dinner at RCG, recently-- and this restaurant and staff wont disappoint you. The staff was friendly and the decor was great, good selection of drinks and the food was cooked perfect and tasted great. I would highly recommend Rabbit Carrot Gun.
Good beers, great food and friendly, relaxed atmosphere made for a very good evening. A bit of rugby in the background on the screens was a bonus.
Amazing beef wellington that will keep me going back for more! Perfectly cooked meat encased within delicious pastry. Other items on menu worth a try too!
A lovely place for a quiet brunch in the afternoon.
Meal was enjoyable and the service was good. Had a lovely time.
Wonderful service, very friendly genuine owners and always good food and drinks. Family friendly menu of British classics and some familiar dishes with a twist.
Always really good pub grub and a very nice atmosphere
the food was nice and they attended to us quickly. however, it was a little pricey considering that the portion is not that large as well.
The service was great! They attended to us quickly and came over once in awhile to check if everything was okay. The toffee pudding is a must-try. Very lovely indeed! Definitely going back for more.
Thanks again for a great brunch!! Great service and food as always spot on! Perfect coffee and a great way to spend Sunday. Thank RCG!
beef wellington soft tender juicy- one of the better ones i've tried. Although portion size is small. Chocolate lava cake was oozing with chocolate in center very good
Great service, great food, great Bloody Mary and the best French toast I've had in a while! looking forward to going back to try lunch and dinner menus!
The food was awesome. I'm sure we'll come back. The service was attentive if a bit slow at times. A great place and beers were welcome addition.
Amazing food and atmosphere, a really great personable owner who took care of us the whole evening, and the best beef Wellington I've ever had.
Great food! Great service! Didn't feel like I was in Singers....Will definitely go again.. What more can I say? Recommend the Sunday roast with desserts!
Went for brunch with the kids on Saturday and really enjoyed the lively atmosphere. Food was great too. Simple, fuss-free and decent serving sizes. Worth a visit!
Good service, good food and a nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly and engaging with the guests and the boss Richard is friendly and made the reservation for the special Christmas dinner quite hassle free.
Delicious food and cosy ambience. We had the crab cakes, caesar salad and beef steak. The toffee pudding was yummy. However service could be more attentive. Nevertheless we enjoyed our dinner.
The meal was disappointing. There is obviously going to be some discrepancy between what is advertised and then what is delivered to your plate, but in this instance the difference between the two was startling. My grilled goats cheese starter was shockingly bad. I was served a plate of what was essentially biscuits with a smeared with a very thin layer of goats cheese. The champagne sorbet consisted of a 'thimble' of sorbet that barely left a taste in the mouth and should certainly not being listed as a course. The 'turkey dinner with all the trimmings' was a let down. The duck fat roast potatoes looked like they had been scrapped off the bottom of the roasting tin, large fluffy potatoes they were not. The vegetables were fine except everything was cold and the portions… 'size is everything' except at the Rabbit, Carrot Gun restaurant, if you are on a diet then this the place to go. Big they are not. The worst part of the meal was the quality of the turkey meat. We were given 'bits' not slices of of dark meat, some of it belonging to the giblets (or so it appeared). We had to ask for extra breast meat which arrived on a small side plate again in a pile of 'bits', again cold. The desserts and cheese platter were fine, if small portioned. The service was adequate, although we were served water in an odd assort of different glasses. It's always a risk going out for any meal to somewhere new, particularly for Christmas Day lunch. But this restaurant had been recommended to us by a number of people and with that and the general perception of what the 'Christmas Feast' promised failed to live upto even the most realistic expectations.
Absolutely fantastic evening. Bar staff are friendly and attentive, the manager is welcoming and a really nice, down to earth kinda guy. They serve my favorite beer, Asahi and the food was out of this world. I'm going to make this place my new local.
Ordered the Beef Wellington and Crab Cakes and wasn't disappointed with the turnout of both dishes 👍🏽 Tend to come back another time to savor more of their mains.
Great food, great service, great prices, great atmosphere! They've got it just right here! Loved the pork belly and the beef Wellington. Always made to feel welcome
Food was excellent and service above and beyond - absolutely aiming to please. A quaint setting, relaxed dinner and a lovely experience. We really enjoyed the high quality meal coupled with the very relaxed atmosphere.
Food was average. We orders a British platter to share and the Beef Wellington. The platter had too much pastry.... If restaurant is air-conditioned, it would be much appreciated in Singapore's weather.
Good food, slightly over priced though. Would be great to have some more vegetarian options. Nice ambience, reasonably efficient & friendly staff. Would go again
Service was fine but my sausage and mash had to be returned to be cooked more. I think smaller sausages cooked until brown and slightly sticky are better. Will be back though. Also I think the fancy holders for fries and sauces are a bit cumbersome
Terrible service. Staff was blur and charge us wrongly for the meal!
Like the ambience and staff is friendly. However, it can be pretty hot without aircon and food was average.
Cozy place for weekend brunch served with lovely ice mocha. Friendly servers with variety of menu items to choose from. Recommended the beef burger for burger lover
Food ok, was missing flavour. Not very flexible in making changes in their menu. And service could be improved, waitress needed assistance when taking our order and later was handed the wrong bill.
A nice cosy cafe but it can get rather hot since the entire area is open. Food was decent but portions were small given the price. Service was slow as there was a lack of service staff although I can see that they were trying their best.
